In reference to the woes that have befallen Canadian-based Kenyan-born lawyer Miguna Miguna and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Aukot said the trend is worrying.

"The disobedience by #JubileeGovernment of court orders in the cases of both @MigunaMiguna and now @HonMoses_Kuria as well as many others is worrying. Are we going back to the tyrannical one-party state of the KANU era?," he tweeted on Saturday.

On Friday, Kuria was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman on December 8 at Royal Media precincts. He was taken to Kilimani Police Station.

A stampede followed as police officers declined to release him in spite of a court order granting the lawmaker Sh50,000 anticipatory bail.

On Miguna's case, he continues being stranded at a German airport. This follows "red alert" allegedly issued by the Kenyan government.

This, again, foes against several court rulings in the past where the government was asked to allow Miguna back citing that he is a Kenyan.

Miguna was expected to jet back to Kenya on January 7.
