On Tuesday, Cherargei through his official Facebook page noted he stands for harmony and peaceful coexistence among communities.

He said, political detractors, did so to gain political mileage.

"I simply spoke against constant attacks and outrageous allegations labelled against the leadership of the country by political detractors who rely on mud-slinging and diversionary tactics to try to divert our attention from identifying existing problems and keeping the focus on the delivery of the Government's Big Four Agenda, " Cherargei noted.

"The utterances I am alleged to have made have been completely misinterpreted and blown out of proportion conveniently by political detractors with the aim to achieve political ends," he added.

Moreover, the Jubilee senator revealed they are aware of the scheme to undertime leaders allied to the DP.

"The recent ongoings are a clear and deliberate attempt to intimidate and try to silence supporters of H.E Deputy President Dr William Samoei Ruto but no amount of intimidation will waver our support for H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta and H.E Deputy President William Ruto," he added.
