Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has made a claresrt indiationyet that he is on his way back to politics after several years in the political cold.
The former Mvita MP who is one of the longest-serving Ministers in the history of Kenya, has not held a political seat since 2013 when he lost to newcomer Hassan Omar in the race for Mombasa Senator.
With 2022 politics starting to take shape, Balala has hinted at making a much-needed comeback.
According to the veteran politician, he will not hesitate taking up a political position when it comes his way in future.
"If tomorrow I'm appointed Prime Minister of Kenya, I will take it up," said CS Balala.
While warning against early campaigns ahead of 2022, Balala said that that may derail the Building Bridges initiative spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
"All options are open for all of us but we are not going to focus on politics for now because politics can be divisive and destructive. We are trying to reform our politics," he added.
