Joash Maangi, the Kisii County deputy governor argued that those who will be seeking presidency in 2022 should not venture into spreading falsehood about DP William Ruto.

"There is no need to DP Ruto's rivals to continue spreading propaganda. Let them wait for 2022 to contest and Kenyans shall make a decision," he said.

Maangi reiterated that divisive politics will not make one a leader.

The Deputy Governor who has declared interest to succeed his boss Governor James Ongwae said leaders are chosen by God.

"We can't force ourselves on the people. The electorates have a mandate to chose who they want to be their leader. Ruto's presidential candidature should not bother his rivals because at the end he will be vying like them," noted Maangi.

He insisted that he has a right to support whoever he feels has the same development ideologies.

"I just don't wake up and support a person like that, I observe the development ideologies of the person before I back him or her," he noted.
