President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Friday unimpressed with the manner with which the ministry of education has been handling concerns on the new 2-6-3-3 curriculum.
This was evident during an interview with journalists at State House, Mombasa. The reaction by the Head of State puts CS Amina Mohammed on the spotlight.
The ministry's actions, statements recently on the curriculum and its implementation would be in the full glare and scrutiny of the public. This is after CS Amina suspended the curriculum implementation for a year before reversing her decision.
In the Friday night interview, President Uhuru was apologetic to the nation. He held that the government was apologetic for the mix-up by a 'few' individuals who gave the report on the governments inability to implement the new education curriculum.
"I want to personally apologize for the confusion that has been there concerning our new education curriculum. There have been many voices. We will sit and agree on one thing, the way forward. But for now, the curriculum will continue,"
The president appeared worked up by the ministry's senior officials for giving misguided information to the media on the new curriculum.
He stated that he is focused on seeing that the curriculum is rolled out in bits, ranging from grade 1 to IV from January next year.
