A Member of Parliament from Gusii region has sensationally claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta may have betrayed DP William Ruto despite helping him to secure presidency.
Bobasi MP Innocent Obiri on Saturday asked the DP to 'pray' for Uhuru and move on even though signs are that he may have betrayed him.
At the function where Ruto donated Sh10 million, Obiri said the Abagusii community will back Ruto in 2022 elections despite the unfolding political dynamics precipitated by handshake.
"Sometimes you trust someone so much and give your everything but that person betrays you. Your Excellency do not worry. Just pray for him and as a community, we shall not abandon you," he said in indirect reference to Uhuru.
Dr Ruto has been secretly tussling with his boss, Uhuru Kenyatta but he's yet to roll out his sleeves against the president. He has however, contradicted his boss often in recent times.
Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose also said the Abagusii community will back Ruto no matter the spirited campaigns to have him locked out of the presidential race.
"As speakers have and, we shall stand with you all the time. You made us proud through your activities and nothing will change our minds. No matter their plans, we shall overcome," he said.
