Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama on Saturday became the first governor to visit under siege Okoth Obado, who is facing murder charges at the High Court.
Ever since securing his freedom on bond last year in October, Migori Governor Okoth Obado is yet to host any of his counterpart until on Saturday when he attended a church function with Nyagarama before hosting him.
Deputy President William Ruto is yet another high profile leader who has been hosted by Obado, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend Sharon Otieno and unborn baby in September last year.
Mr Obado along with Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero will be returning to court in May this year to battle out criminal cases they are facing and should he be convicted, he could lose his seat.
"I am happy to be in Migori. It is my first time but the governor is my close friend. We are happy that the country is calm and all of us should use that advantage especially in business," said Nyagarama.
Mr Obado on his part said: "As ambassadors of devolution, we shall defend it all the time. Services are now much closer to people than before."
A fortnight ago, Obado made an application in court to be allowed to access Migori-Homa Bay border having been banned in the bail that was granted by Justice Jessie Lessit in October.
The second term governor is also not allowed to travel out of the country making his movements difficult. In most cases, he's forced to take flights from Migori.
Just like Obado, Nyagarama is also facing resistance from home over performance and on Friday he admitted that he's not perfect . The ODM governor is also serving his second term.
