Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has hit out at politicians who have started early 2022 succession politics.
Speaking in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, on Saturday, Moi said it is not yet time for politics but development.
"It is sad that some politicians have already started the early campaigns. For heaven sake it is only two years since Kenyans went to the ballot and Kenyans cannot be in an electioneering mood always," said the KANU chairman.
He reiteriated that politicians were not elected to play politics but to work for the electorate by making their lives better.
"Let us focus on development and when it comes to 2022 we will cross the bridge when we reach there since Kenya cannot drink or eat politics. Kenyans will decide then who will be their president," added the Baringo senator.
He, however, called on politicians to come together to ensure that once their tenure is over they live a country that their offspring will be proud of and further assured Kenyans that he will embrace peace regardless of tribal or political affiliations.
Politicians allied to the Deputy President William Ruto have been seen crisscrossing the country in a bid to campaign for his (Ruto) 2022 presidential bid.
Gideon Moi has not yet publically announced his interest for presidency come 2022 but his moves show he is interested with the top seat.
