Kisii Governor James Ongwae said he has never gone to Matiang'i to ask him help to clear his name in corruption.

"I have been reading on social media that I am out seeking Matiang'i's help in the graft war. There is no corruption in Kisii county as claimed. Those behind the false information have an hidden agenda they want to achieve," he said.

Ongwae appealed to Gusii residents to stop relying so much on false information.

"I wish to urge Gusii community members not to believe in the false information being spread on social media. Anyone with tangible information that there is corruption in Kisii county should move to court instead of spreading propaganda to get political relevance," he noted.

The county boss said if he goes to super minister Matiang'i, he will seek his support to initiate development projects in the county.

He was speaking on Friday at Nyantaro village, Nyamira county during the burial of Joan Moraa the daughter of Kisii County Director of Human Resource Duke Ongechi.
