This comes at a time when the nation is still weighing the possibilities of having lost billions of shillings to graft in the construction of the Arror and Kimwarer dams.

Speaking on Friday, Raila questioned Ruto for hastily coming out to defend the projects and insiting that no money had been lost in the alleged corruption scandal.

Speaking on Friday, he bashed the DP for trying to justify the saga, saying that his actions point at a man involved in the same and should carry his own cross is the same is the case.

"Don't go round telling us that only seven billion shillings was lost in the scandal. People must be held accountable and if you stole you must carry your own cross," said Raila.

"Seven billion shillings is a lot of money and not petty cash for snacks. Carry your own cross," said Raila during his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party National Governing Council at the Orange House in Nairobi.

But in a quick rejoinder, Ruto accused Raila of politicizing the whole issue, warning the former Prime Minister against complicating the loves of Kenyans through his politicking.

"This is not about snacks but the lives of 100,000 people living in the areas where the dams are being constructed, said Ruto in Garissa.
