The registration of the system, otherwise known as Huduma Namba was launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Machakos county on Tuesday last week.

So far, only 30, 000 people have been registered in the digital system, about 120, 000 less of what regional administration hoped to register within the first week.

Confirming the same, Suna East Sub County Deputy County Commissioner Daniel Mutiso said that 1, 038 assistants have been deployed to do the job in the county's 211 sub-locations.

He added that the exercise was initially facing a number of challenges, especially mechanical and internet problems.

However, he told the Citizen Digital on Tuesday that they have been resolved and more people are expected to be registered going forward.

He took issue with the baseless claims that have been fronted by people questioning the exercise, some of whom have linked it to satanism.

The administrator pointed out that the registration seeks to enable the government to better service to its citizens.

The exercise had also been approved by opposition leader Raila Odinga, one of the most followed leaders in Migori and the entire Nyanza region.
