A Nairobi businessman who went missing in April along the Embu-Mwea road has been recovered in a river.

The body of James Maina Muikia was recovered decomposing inside his car in river Thiba in Mbeere South.

Police said the body, which was inside the wreckage of his expensive Volvo XC60, was in bad shape.

Apparently, the body has been in the water for up to four months and police said the car might have been swept by the overflowing river or lost control and plunged into the deep waters.

Muikia’s family launched a serach for their dad in April after he failed to return to their Nairobi home after a trip to his horticultural farm in Embu.

They suspected he might have been abducted.
