The family of slain businesswoman Monica Kimani is opposing the release of murder suspects Jacque Maribe and Joseph Irungu alias Jowie.
Through an affidavit filed by the deceased’s brother on behalf of the family, they say they are living in fears since the brutal murder of their daughter and release of the suspects will only worsen the situation.
“The fact that the motive of my sister’s murder is unknown poses a greater danger to the family since we are not sure whether it could have been an onslaught against our family, which began with my sister,” George Kimani said.
Kimani adds that the 1st accused (Jowie) knows where he (Kimani) and the other family live and therefore would risk their lives.
Jowie is being held as the key suspect in the gruesome murder of Monica who was found murdered at her house in Kilimani area on September 20 after arriving on September 19 from South Sudan.
Jowie and Maribe are expected to appear before Justice James Wakiaga on October 24 for a bail hearing.
