Kanjama insists that Governor Korane allegedly presented fake academic papers to the electoral agency for clearance.

The lawyer now wants the court to compel the electoral commission to make the documents public pending hearing of a petition that is challenging Korane’s academic papers.

Appearing before Nairobi High Court Judge Wilfrida Okwany on Wednesday, Kanjama said that there is evidence that Korane presented fake papers for clearance.

“We are urging this court to make an order that IEBC discloses academic papers presented by governor Korane for clearance,” he said.

The IEBC, however, objected the move, noting that the matter is still under active investigation.

Justice Okwany directed parties in the petition filed by Adan Mukhtar Barre to file all necessary responses and affidavits before the hearing set for next month.

Mukhtar wants governor Korane barred from discharging his duties on grounds that he is allegedly in office illegally.

The petitioner alleges that the Garissa county boss used fake papers to contest in the gubernatorial poll.

The case will be mentioned on December 19, 2018, for slotting of hearing dates.

Governor Korane has denied presenting fake academic papers to the IEBC.

Through is lawyer Ahmednasir Abdikadir, the Jubilee governor argues that he does not own a Masters degree from the University of Nairobi as the petitioner claims.
