Confirming the meeting, Speaker Beatrice Elachi said that a letter, which has been addressed to Majority Leader Charles Thuo and Minority Leader David Mberia, has been drafted to both Jubilee and ODM MCAs to convene the meeting.

The lawmakers are expected to meet at the Assembly to address the matter. The speaker said that all the 122 MCAs are expected to attend the meeting after the governor was blocked from discharging his duties at the office last month.

Elachi had objected to the meeting of the MCAs until the Attorney General gives the directive on the matter.

“The Speaker to the Nairobi County Assembly wishes to notify you that there will be a Kamukunji of all members of the County Assembly on Tuesday, January 7, at 10:00 am in the Assembly chambers," read part of the letter.

Elachi also revealed that the agenda of the meeting will be made clear when the lawmakers convene. Thuo has confirmed receiving the letter ahead of the meeting.
