The vocal MP argued that the leaders snubbed meetings organised by the BBI team because they were told the report was not going anywhere.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Wambugu argued that the allies of Deputy President William Ruto have now changed tune because they have realised the report is unstoppable.

“We also understand that when BBI was collecting views from members of the public from the Mt Kenya region, this section of Mt Kenya leaders refused to attend these forums and present their views. Someone had told them BBI was not going anywhere. And they believed him!" he said.

Wambugu further argued that all the concerns raised by the Tangatanga team were presented to the BBI taskforce and asked them to exercise patience until the report is released.

“Now they have realised BBI is unstoppable - & they are trying to catch-up. But I would urge them to be patient and wait for the report. They will then realise that all the issues they are raising were raised by those of us who actually presented views to BBI - & covered adequately & comprehensively,” he added.
