Police officers in Eldoret are looking for the owner and a driver of a vehicle which was allegedly used by thieves to still a cow in Kapseret.
According to Kapseret sub-county police commander Francis Warui, the thieves used a small vehicle, a size of a Vitz in their attempt to steal the cow.
“We received information from a lady that her cow was missing, we followed the footstep step of the cow and found some people trying to force the cow into the vehicle, seeing us, they tried to escape with the cow but unfortunately the car hit a bump and the cow fell," said Warui.
He spoke to the press at his office on Sunday.
The police boss noted that the owner of the vehicle and the driver are being sought so as to will help police with investigations.
“They escaped but fortunately their vehicle was pouring oil on the way and police followed until they got the vehicle in a garage in Kapseret. We trolled the vehicle and it's now in our custody at Langas police station,” Warui noted wondering how the thieves wanted a cow worth over Sh70,000 to fit into a small vehicle.
Police have arrested mechanics who were repairing the vehicle for them to reveal the driver and owner of the vehicle.
