The county boss is expected to settle vicious power wars with the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) after taking a six-month sick leave.

Awiti, 67, is tasked to put his house in order to ensure better service delivery to the residents after surviving election nullification scare.

The county boss has not settled fully in his office after his rival former Kasipul MP, Oyugi Magwanga contested his win.

Magwanga lamented of massive illegalities and irregularities in the exercise that saw him lose the contest to Awiti.

He insisted that the win of his rival didn’t reflect the will of the people of the county.

Awiti opted to hire the best lawyers in the nation, led by James Orengo and Prof Tom Ojienda before he filed an appeal at the Apex court.

The governor’s camp is with no doubt happy following his win.

It is now a golden opportunity for the county boss to deliver on his promises before the completion of his second and final term in office.

As his supporters continue to celebrate his win, Awiti still has a long way to go if he wants to leave a legacy before 2022.
