Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has delved into the ongoing debate over men's attitude towards women and involvement in the crime.
In a post on his Facebook page, the vocal legislator said he is perturbed by recent developments in the country where women have fallen prey to men in a love triangle.
"The events of the past week have brought out the darkest aspects of men in Kenyan society. I want to urge young people not to fall into existing stereotypes about what it is to be a man. A real man is one who is kind, respectful and protective of women in society. Not abusive, entitled or chauvinistic," reads part of Babu Owino's Facebook post.
He added that young people should focus on changing stereotypes circulated in the country's gender parity and break the old fashioned notion of men's superiority since all are made equal in the eyes of God.
"As young people, we will be the ones to bring change and break the cycle of previous generations. Let us not repeat the mistakes of yesterday. Instead, let us work together with our sisters for a luminous future tomorrow!" he said.
Of the recent weeks, women have fallen victims as a result of alleged love with the hacking to death of the 6th year medical student of Moi University shocking the country.
