Police in Masinga, Machakos County confiscated and burnt twelve gambling machines on Friday.
According to Masinga police boss Francis Siror, the machines were nabbed in different days in Matuu, Ekalakala and other parts of Masinga local shopping centres.
"We have nabbed these machines in different areas in Masinga and we will still continue to look for more to destroy," he told Hivisasa.
Siror further said that gambling machines are encouraging the youth to engage in crime to raise money for gambling.
"These things (gambling machines) have destroyed the morals of many youths. Some will even look for money in bad ways to go and gamble," he said
He noted that many youths can't even save money and help themselves in future because of such vices.
He urged the youths to shun gambling and focus on their future. He, however, emphasized that the crackdown to stop gambling will continue.
The crackdown comes days after Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang'i ordered the deportation of nationals who are operating gambling business without legal permits.
