Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has claimed that businessman Jimmy Wanjigi parted with 2,500 US Dollars (Sh250, 000) to allegedly purchase a pen in preparation for the mock swearing-in of ODM leader Raila Odinga in January, 2018.
Speaking on Citizen TV's JKL show on Wednesday, Miguna, however, said that things never went as planned on the inauguration day.
He claimed that Raila was not ready to take the oath of office as planned.
According to Miguna, the team tasked with the preparation of the venue failed terribly.
“They didn’t bring chairs, they didn’t bring the platform, they didn’t bring the emblem, they didn’t bring anything. In fact, if I had not brought the oath itself, if I had not brought my seal, even a pen, he would not have been sworn in.
“As we were sitting a Bible I had chosen, and had been kept at his house in Karen was not brought, because remember, I had sworn him in two days before, I was supposed to swear him in, the same day with the same Bible, with the same pen, because Jimmy Wanjigi had bought a pen he told us was worth 2,500 US Dollars. He said that was the pen we were supposed to use, it wasn't there,” he said.
The outspoken lawyer also said the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila had been planned behind the scenes.
He alleged that the two had secrets plans before they made it public.
