The government will ensure peace returns to Nessuit, Njoro sub-county of Nakuru as well as Ol-Pusimoru on the border of Narok and Nakuru counties.
Speaking in Nakuru Town on Tuesday during a peace dialogue for communities living in Njoro, Rift Valley Regional Coordinator Mwongo Chimwanga said they have beefed up security.
“We have met here to find a lasting solution to what is ailing us in Njoro and Molo as well as parts of Narok County. But as we speak already there is calmness in the areas after the skirmishes that were experienced,” he said.
He warned politicians against inciting remarks.
“We said politicians should not hold meetings in the area as this might jeopardize the government’s agenda of achieving peace in the area,” Chimwanga said.
He urged parents to take their children back to school.
“All schools in the area are open and no student has been transferred but they will sit the exams in their respective schools,” said Chimwanga.
