A Jubilee Member of Parliament has warned that former State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu may disappoint in his new job as Kenya's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Limuru legislator Peter Mwathi said despite Esipisu possessing good communication skills, he is 'very unfriendly' and cautioned that if he does not change his attitude, he could be a stumbling block to the good relations between Kenya and Britain.
"I know you are a very good communicator but very unfriendly. You are now going to be a diplomat and must start knowing how to handle people, not the way you did at State House," Mwathi said on Thursday during the vetting of Esipisu at Parliament Buildings.
But the former Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) boss defended himself saying it was not his nature to be hostile to people.
"Probably Mr Mwathi found me on my bad day. I am otherwise a very friendly person. I can't have worked with all these heads of state and organisations without being friendly," he said.
Esipisu, who had listed President Uhuru Kenyatta as one of his referees on his curriculum vitae, vowed to deliver in his new docket and asked the MPs to reach out to the Head of State to know more about his conduct and competencies.
"He (Uhuru) was my primary supervisor for five years. That's why he's my referee. The committee chairman can help you get to him in case of any clarification," Esipisu said.
