Minority Chief Whip George Mosiori says his decision to visit Migori Governor Okoth Obado at Industrial Area prison was out of 'compassion and brotherly love'.
The Jubilee politician becomes the first among few elected leaders to visit the estranged governor, who is facing two murder charges.
On Facebook, he said: "I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me, with Migori County Governor, Okoth Obado, Chris Ruba."
And his friend Chris Ruba confirmed that the two have had a close working relationship thus the decision to visit him.
"We have been working together and as a brother, I saw it necessary to visit him. We shall do it again."
On Friday, Obado along with his aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero will know the fate of their bail application.
They were charged for the murder of Sharon Otieno and the unborn baby and have been in jail for three weeks now.
At Migori, Mr. Obado would find a new senator, Ochillo Ayacko, who was declared winner in Monday's by-election.
Mr. Mosiori is a close confidant of President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto and the three have in the past campaigned together.
