Governor Ali Korane has led Garissa residents in mourning the death of Governor Anyang Nyong'o's mother, Dorcas Owino.
In a social media post, Korane relayed his sincere condolences, praying to God to grant the family strength during the hard times of mourning.
"I send my sincere condolences and sympathies to Governor @AnyangNyongo and family over the passing on of mother Mama Dorcas Owino Nyong'o. May God give the family the strength to bear the loss," the condolence message stated.
Several top national leaders including the rivals Deputy President William Ruto and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Raila Odinga sent messages of condolence to the Kisumu's First Family. The late was mourned as a dedicated, responsible and loving person.
Mama Owino died on Tuesday at around midday at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi.
A statement from Nyong'o's communication team revealed that she passed on at 1.55 pm. However, the cause of her death is yet to be made available to members of the general public.
Similarly, the family is yet to issue burial programs after meeting relatives and close family friends.
