Bonchari Member of Parliament John Oyioka has defended his decision to propose the relocation of Kisii South District Headquarters from Kerina to Suneka.
According to the PDP party MP, Suneka is a central place as compared to Kerina which is at the far end of the constituency.
"Relocating the district headquarter offices from Kerina to Suneka will bring government services close to people because our people travel far distances to access government services at Kerina," he said.
He denied claims that he has not engaged locals and professionals from the area in his plan to relocate the offices.
Oyioka maintained that he is determined to serve the electorates without favour or discrimination.
"Bonchari constituents should not panic because I am committed to serving them irrespective of how they voted for me during the August 8, 2017 polls. Supporters who were in other camps should feel free to give positive criticism," said the lawmaker.
He accused a section of social media users who are spreading propaganda in social media about his leadership.
The lawmaker assured that CDF funds will be used to fund projects in all the wards with an aim of eradicating poverty.
