Two coastal Members of Parliament Aisha Jumwa and Suleiman Dori might face the wrath of ODM if the National Governing Council (NGC) ratifies disciplinary recommendations leveled against them by the National Executive Council (NEC).
If their membership will be terminated on Friday, ODM will have to do the following as guided by its constitution:
1. The party will delete their names from the party’s register.
2. ODM will force them to return all party property within their custody. In case they fail to comply, ODM has a right to lay claims against them for any amount of money due or owing to the party or for any damage or loss occasioned to party property which was in their custody, possession or control prior to termination of membership.
3. The Raila Odinga-led party will not refund any fees and subscriptions made to the party prior to the termination.
The above directions outlined in ODM constitution will guide how the Malindi and Msambweni MPs will be dealt with in case the National Governing Council ratifies National Executive Council recommendations.
The duo may likely go back to the ballot for supporting DP William Ruto’s presidential ambition.
