Speaking on Wednesday, Weda noted that Ruto's presidency will entirely depend on ODM boss Raila Odinga's plans for the same race.

He said that the DP would automatically ascend to the top seat should Raila keep off the race adding that he will crush all the other candidates who have declared an interest.

Weda observed that as things stand now, its only Raila who has what it takes to beat the DP, and his absence in the race will be a guaranteed win for Ruto.

"If Raila will not be in the ballot, then Kenyans should prepare for William Ruto's presidency," he said on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show on Wednesday morning.

He based this on DP's hard work and commitment adding that his generosity has enabled him to attract a large following that will be rallying behind him in the race.

According to Weda, all the other candidates have been unable to match the DP on matters wooing the masses, which might work against them and in his favour come 2022.

"He is hardworking and generous. While the others are still talking, he is doing tens of rallies and distributing billions of shillings," he added.

Others who have declared their interests include Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya boss Moses Wetangula and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
