Without giving names, the Jubilee MP termed the lawmakers as 'young and inexperienced' and urged veteran politicians from the region to guide the said MPs and Senators."Mt Kenya leaders should meet and advise the youthful legislators to return to normalcy," said Kamanda who was speaking in Mathioya, Murang'a County.Kamanda argued the leaders engaging in premature campaigns ahead of the 2022 polls were disrespecting their party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta, since he had repeatedly cautioned them against engaging in succession politics. He called on the politicians from Uhuru's backyard to help the Head of State achieve his agenda such as the 'Big Four' pillars and fight against corruption."Most of Mt Kenya leaders hang on the President's coats to secure their positions but they are now behaving as if they have a bigger master," Kamanda said, as quoted by the Nation. The former Starehe MP added: "They have gone a notch higher to publicly oppose the directive on lifestyle audit. We will not let them disrespect the President."Among the leaders from the region who have been rallying supporters to back the DP are MPs Kimani Ichungw'a (Kikuyu), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Kanini Kega (Kieni) and Senators Kimani Wamatangi (Kiambu) and his Murang'a counterpart Irungu Kang'ata.
