Two first-half goals from Christen Press and Alex Morgan was enough to see off the Lioness of England to the final. The win means US has made a third successive trip to the final.

Christen Press opened the score sheet with a pinpoint header just after ten minutes into the match before England's Ellen White equalized on the 19th-minute mark.

Another super header from Alex Morgan saw the USA in front again, a lead that was not cancelled until the final whistle.

White thought she had equalized for the Lioness only for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to correctly rule she was inches offside.

The Lioness had a last golden chance to go level the score after they were awarded a late spot kick. White was brought down into the box and after a lengthy VAR check, she was awarded a penalty.

Unfortunately, Steph Houghton who stepped up to the spot in the 84th minute was denied by a diving goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher.

The win against England means USA have recorded eleven consecutive wins and 16 matches without recording lose.

The final will be played on 7th July at Stade de Lyon, France.
