Speaking during the Jeff Koinange show on Citizen TV on Wednesday, Millie Odhiambo raised concern over the upbringing of children in the modern age of technology.

She wondered why a young child would be allowed to own a phone and a social media page. The vocal MP stated that she lives with her 13-year old niece but has never bought a phone for her.

The Consolata Primary School class seven student posted a video on his Instagram page where he threatened to shoot a girl whom he accused of bullying by calling him gay.

Odhiambo expressed fear that the boy could be living under a condition that required the intervention of the children’s department.

“We are failing them. We are spoiling our children. And a lot of people say it because the law removed corporal punishment…” she said.

The no-nonsense second-time legislature was upset that a parent would allow their children to go to the level of using obscene language in public. She maintained that she raises children with a lot of love and strictness.
