Kesses MP Dr Swarup Mishra has dismissed claims circulating on social media that he swindled money meant for the treatment of Jude Kiplagat, a leukaemia patient.
According to an officer from the office of the MP who sought anonymity, the claims are part of a conspiracy concocted by a chain of political maniac aimed at suiting their corroding political ways.
The source said Mishra had pledged Sh1 million to fast track the process of transferring the patient to India but a few individuals wanted him to deliver the pledge to them.
"The touchpoint of all these claims is one million shillings from Dr Mishra. The people who were responsible for Jude's money wanted the MP to pay the amount into their controlled account but he declined and made his contributions to Yoshida Hospital in Hyderabad South India," the source told Hivisasa on Thursday.
He further claimed that the cash collected by members of the community to help the patient was swindled by a few individuals who were in charge of the patient's fundraiser.
The MP now wants the committee that was mandated to collect the funds to tell the public how much they collected and how they used the money.
"They cannot account for each and every cent that is why they diverted attention to the public to scapegoat their incompetency. It's sad that they claimed Sh2.9 million was handed to Mishra which is not true," noted the source.
Dr Balachadran Menon from the Yoshida Hospital in India confirmed to Hivisasa that the MP sent the Sh1 million for Jude's medication.
