Tanzanian star musician Diamond Platnumz has been requested to cancel his performance at the Wasafi Festival scheduled for September 21st in Iringa.
Tanzania's Minister of Information, Sports, Arts and Culture Dr Harrison Mwakyembe appealed to the musician to honour the request so as to give way for the Jumuiya ya Afrika Mashariki Utamaduni Festival (JAMAFEST) event which will happen on the same date as Wasafi Festival.
Dr Mwakyembe pointed out that Diamond's cancellation of his performance will be viewed as a patriotic act.
The minister extended his invitation to Diamond citing that when the same event happened in Uganda, all the big wigs in the country attended.
“I have called our youngster musician on the continent of Africa and the whole world. Diamond this is the time to display your patriotism, come and join us. And he will also be having an event in Iringa, I have told him to cancel his event for patriotism. I think he will do just like that. Because when we were in Uganda, all the big wigs in that country attended the event.
