The head of State is expected to hold a meeting with the US President Donald Trump on Monday. 

Uhuru and Trump are scheduled to hold talks on different subjects at the White House. 

The president was accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta aboard the national carrier Kenya Airways. 

The Presidential flight from Nairobi to New York is expected to take 15 hours. 

Uhuru and the first lady were seen off by a number of leaders including DP William Ruto, Interior CS Fred Matiang’I, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and his Kiambu Ferdinand Waititu (Kiambu) as they left the nation. 

The tour is considered to be of great benefit to this nation. 

The country has played an immense role in America’s fight to maintain peace and security in the Eastern African region with the entry into Somali to kick out Al Shabaab terror group being one of the major steps in history. 

Over years, the citizens of this nation have reaped from US-sponsored programs including African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). The superpower has continued to have cordial ties with Kenya despite Former US President Barack Obama retirement.
