There was drama at Nakuru Hills Special school in London Ward, Nakuru on Monday after workers held a peaceful demonstration over what they termed as harassment.
They also protested alleged seven months salary delay.
Led by Tom Nandi, the workers accused the school's management of harassment.
The workers called on the Ministry of Education to intervene the situation.
“We have not been paid since August last year and yet we have families. We feel frustrated by the management of the school,” said Nandi.
The workers also accused the school of corruption.
“We have a payroll of March last year that if you look at you will be surprised that some people who left job long time ago or died are still on payroll,” said Nandi.
The management of the school, when reached for comment, said the government is to blame on the plight facing its employees.
“The special needs schools money always delays since it is disbursed through a system of after 5-6 months. But we had some money that was organized from the main account and we paid the workers,” said the head teacher.
Nakuru Hills Special school was founded in 1978 for special needs children in Nakuru.
