Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has sent his condolences to the family of the late Willy Komen who died on Saturday in Nakuru.
Kinyanjui expressed grief on his facebook page following the sudden demise of the veteran Nakuru politician.
Komen who served as a Member of Parliament in three constituencies died at his home in Menengai, in Rongai Constituency after a short illness.
Governor Kinyanjui termed the death as a loss eulogizing the former MP who died at the age of 77 as a peace loving leader and contributed in the society.
“We have learnt with regret and sadness of the sudden demise of former MP Willy Komen. He is father to Nakuru CECM for Trade, Tourism and Cooperatives Mr. Raymond Komen and I wish to send my condolences to the family and friends," he said.
Before his death, he happened to serve in Nakuru West which has since been partitioned to Molo and Nakuru Town West.
“Mr Komen was a long-serving legislator, having being MP for three constituencies in Nakuru. He was MP for Nakuru West, which is now Molo, Nakuru Town and Rongai. He served the region at a time of great political turbulence but emerged as a great unifying factor, as well as a peace loving leader.
“He was a respected member of the community and in his retirement, he contributed immensely to the society through engagement in church activity and education. His service and commitment will be missed by all who interacted with his generosity. May the almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace,” he said.
