Surprisingly, Maliti will trounce his opponents in the gubernotorial race come 2022.

Not because he is popular or loved by the electorates, but will take advantage of a situation that will present itself on a silver platter.

Almost four Wiper legislators have declared to vie for the top county seat not to mention former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti who will either be defending her seat or trying her luck for the third time depending on the Supreme Court's ruling on the pending election petition case before it.

That will bring the Wiper gubernatorial candidates' list to five if some of them do not drop their bids on the way before 2022 elections.

To find the party's candidate in case of a by-election, these politicians will have to go for primaries for a victor to be determined.

The four who will not be contented with the Wiper's nomination results might not give up since all of them think they have the numbers to outsmart their opponents.

They might therefore, all decide to get to the ballot as independent candidates as Maliti vies on a Maendeleo Chap Chap party ticket.

Maliti will definately be issued a direct ticket without being exposed to party nominations.

This might give the deputy governor an advantage against his opponents since they will split the votes as Maendeleo Chap Chap supporters vote as a block in his favor.

Every candidate will get votes from his or her supporters and at the tallying center, believe it or not, Maliti will emerge the winner whitewashing all his competitors.

That is how Machakos stands to get a second governor from Governor Alfred Mutua's led Maendeleo Chap Chap party.
