Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has exuded confidence that opposition leader Raila Odinga will back his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid.

Muthama said Raila owes Kalonzo a political debt in regards to the Memorandum of Understanding the two leaders signed in 2013 and 2017.

Speaking during the burial of Mary Ngondu in Tala, Matungulu Sub County on Monday, Muthama said Kalonzo is the only politician who is being owed political debts in the country.

He said the former Vice President has been patient and loyal to the former Prime minister.

“I am confident that Raila will support Kalonzo in 2022 not just because of the 2017 MoU, but the close political relationship the two leaders have,” Muthama said.

The former senator said Kalonzo and Raila are in good terms contrary to media claims that the two have fallen-out.

Muthama said Kalonzo is the best suited candidate to succeed President Kenyatta in 2022.

He said the former Vice President has experienced more than other top politicians who have declared interest in the 2022 presidential election.

The ex- senator said Kenyans will be in good hands should Kalonzo win the presidency in the 2022 polls.

Kalonzo is among top politicians who are eyeing to succeed President Kenyatta in 2022.

The Wiper leader is banking on an MoU he signed with NASA that was to see him automatically fly the coalition's presidential flag in 2022.
