Detectives working to unravel those behind the murder of Monica Kimani have launched a manhunt for four friends Joseph Irungu, alias Jowie, called on the night he is suspected of having killed the businesswoman.
29-year-old Kimani was found murdered in her Kilimani house at the posh Lamuria Garden apartments.
Her body was dumped in a bathtub with her neck slit open.
According to the standard, police who have been working around the clock to bring killers to the book said Jowie made frantic calls to four people that night.
He also sent messages seeking advice on what he termed ‘weighty’ issue.
Detectives now want the friends to tell their side of the story and whether they were told the suspect had committed the callous murder.
If he disclosed to them, they will also explain why they never reported it.
“Those mentioned in this case thought they would cover it up. Many will face charges of being an accessory,” a source said.
Jowie, who was born and raised up in the dusty town of Nakuru, was put behind bars as police asked the court to give them more time to conduct investigations.
His love, TV star Jackie Maribe, is also cooling heels behind bars after police established she might have tried to help the suspect cover up the murder.
