He may not have expected the statement to turn him into a subject of ridicule from various quarters within political and public circles.

But as soon as the statement was reported in the media, Kenyans on social media picked it and started sharing all manner of jokes making Waititu a laughing stock for days.

Recently, when matatu owners announced that they were going to hike fares if the National Treasury imposed 16 percent VAT on fuel, social media users were quick to 'advise' the government to consider 'moving' towns nearer the people to spare them from paying increased fares.

This was of course in reference to Waititu's statement.

But as if this was not enough, a TV advert currently running on a leading local TV station has been created.

The advert is inviting realtors and other businesspersons in the allied sectors to an investors' forum where matters real estate will be discussed in depth.

It features Kikuyu veteran comedian popularly known as 'Githingithia' incessantly convincing another man to buy a piece of land just next to a river.

When the land buyer tries to object due to the plot's closeness to the river, Githingithia interjects promising him that they will move the river once he buys the plot.

At this juncture, some other two land buyers who have apparently overheard the conversation between the two, appear where they inform Githingithia's client about the investors' forum after which he decides to abandon the riparian land.
