Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu's political expedition in the county started when he was elected as Kabete Member of Parliament through a by-election.
Waititu's populist politics would endear him to Kiambu voters who would come to elect him as their governor during the 2017 General election.
He defeated the then incumbent, Governor William Kabogo whom many voters despite appreciating he had done some good work during his first term, accused of pride and disrespecting women.
However, go out Kabogo, come in Waititu can simply be termed as a house of cards. Yes, Waititu's Kiambu 'house of cards' is crumbling by day and all indications are that by 2022 it will be in total rumbles.
This has perhaps been enforced by the fact that the governor's heart seems to be still in the city.
Below we focus on Waititu's major fallouts with Kiambu elected leadership that may have him alienated and deserted by all like a dangerous witch before 2022;
1. Waititu's fallout with the 'United for Kiambu' team
This is the team that is widely credited for Waititu's gubernatorial victory in 2017 and Kabogo's humiliating defeat. It included among others, Waititu's deputy James Nyoro, rogue Bishop David Ngari alias Gakuyo and sacked Kiambu Road CeC Eng John Mugwe.
All the five members who made this team are no longer together with Waititu after he allegedly betrayed their preelection pact.
2. Waititu's fallout with Kiambu MPs
Save for a few, the governor no longer see eye-to-eye with majority of the 12 Kiambu elected MPs including the Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba.
The fallout was mainly informed by the controversial 'Kaa Sober' programme and the county crackdown on bars and other entertainment joints. Many MPs were vehemently opposed to how the two exercises were being carried out.
3. Waititu's fallout with Kiambu MCAs
After the shameful fight that was witnessed inside the Kiambu County Assembly last week over a supplementary budget, Waititu on Wednesday sent a strong warning to the rebellious MCAs saying he is not going to "soothe anyone who doesn't want to 'work with me."
Apparently, the governor wants the County Assembly to become a rubber stamp chamber that hears no evil, sees no evil and says no evil.
This may be a tall order as the governor may be already aware.
