Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wa has laughed at the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) following a heavy defeat in the just-concluded mini-polls in Ugenya and Embakasi South constituencies.
While congratulating Julius Mawathe who won in Embakasi South and his counterpart David Ochieng who emerged victorious in the Ugenya by-election, Ichung'wa hailed the duo for putting up spirited fight to clinch the coveted seats.
He opined candidates vying on Raila Odinga-led outfit failed since their party lacked proper strategies and only concentrated on 'politics of division'.
ODM's Chris Karan emerged second in Ugenya while Irshad Sumra was beaten by over 14,000 votes in Embakasi South polls by Wiper Party candidate.
"Congratulations Hon David Ochieng of Ugenya and Hon Mawathe of Embakasi South. It’s all a new beginning great gentlemen! You were focused on what you intended to achieve if and when elected. ODM was focused on their evil schemes of vigilante justice and politics of division," the Jubilee MP posted on his official Facebook account on Saturday.
Ichung'wa further put to task Siaya Senator James Orengo who recently threatened to table impeachment motion against Deputy President William Ruto over alleged gross misconduct.
"Senator Orengo the former MP Ugenya was busy plotting how to impeach a Deputy President, but couldn’t deliver a single parliamentary seat in his village," he said.
The Kikuyu MP opined the twin-win was an indication Deputy President William Ruto’s political ambition for 2022 was unstoppable and well on course.
