Speaking after attending a church service at Annex AIC Fellowship on the outskirts of Eldoret town, Sunday, Dr Mishra said this will help the families a place to call home.

“As Kesses MP, it is my responsibility to take care of people regardless of where they belong or come from. To this extent, I will donate 12 acres to 100 families in Mau forest,” he said.

“Each household will get 1/8 of an acre. I request people that God has blessed to chip in and help the families that will be affected for them to settle elsewhere and have a good life,” added the Jubilee MP.

He, however, called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to settle the Mau issue once and for all pointing out that it has already been politicized and was bringing instability in the country.

Mishra noted that as the government wants to conserve the Mau forest, it should also look at ways of settling them by giving them alternative places since they are just Kenyans like any other.

He, however, called on politicians across the divide to stop politicizing the Mau issue.
