In a bid to prove that no human being is limited, Marathon World Record Holder Eliud Kipchoge on Saturday became the first man to finish a full marathon in less than two hours.
Eliud Kipchoge's objective during the marathon which took place in Vienna, Austria on Saturday morning, was to motivate people around the world by proving that indeed no man is limited in terms of his ability.
It is the spirit of this motivation that Eliud Kipchoge embarked on the mission of not only breaking his own record but also writing history in the marathon which was dubbed the INEOS 1:59 Challenge.
In a past press statement, Kipchoge noted that his determination in the marathon had nothing to do with money.
"I'm running to make history. I'm running to change a generation. I am running to tell people no human is limited. It’s not about money," Kipchoge said as quoted by the Nation.
Eliud Kipchoge's achievement brought back nostalgic moments of Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong'o when she became the first Kenyan to win the prestigious Oscar award for Best Supporting Actress in the movie '12 years a slave'.
Lupita's thanksgiving speech after receiving the award went viral, with her 'your dreams are valid' phrase touching the hearts of many.
The slogans driving the achievement of these two Kenyan stars have no doubt become a motivation and encouragement to a lot of people.
