The MCAs rejected Ms Pauline on claims that she is old.

The ward representatives claimed that Ms Pauline Oyugi, 57,  is almost hitting her retirement age hence unfit to be appointed to the docket.

During voting, 14 MCAs voted in the favour of Pauline while 19 voted against her.

Of 36 representatives, 34 MCAs participated in the voting with only one vote getting spoilt.

The MCA who voted against Pauline said most of the ministers serving in Governor Nyagarama's government are old.

They demanded that a youthful person be appointed to serve in the trade docket.

Pauline is the current manager at Kebirigo Tea Factory and the county boss had settled on her name given her wide experience in the business managerial position.

Nyagarama will now be forced to pick another nominee and forward the name to the county assembly for vetting.

This comes after increased cases of theft of public funds have been reported in the county.
