His contributions at harambees, churches among other places have earned him the tag Mr Money Bags.

Recently, DP Ruto was in Uganda where he met Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

Museveni, DP Ruto among other leaders paid a visit to Kapchorwa where the DP laid a foundation for the construction of St Peter’s Cathedral Church.

A fundraiser was held, where a total of around USh843 million (approximately KSh23 million) was raised.

Surprisingly, DP Ruto pledged to give USh350 million (approximately KSh10 million), while President Yoweri Museveni donated USh400 million (approximately KSh11 million).

Many people have been questioning Ruto's source of wealth because of his generosity.

He, however, dismissed his critics saying giving is investing in heaven.
