Deputy President William Ruto has cautioned politicians against dragging his name in every corruption scandal in the country.
DP Ruto speaking in Garissa County said that it was unfortunate that some leaders are politicising development projects in the name of the fight against corruption.
Ruto said in order for the country to win the war against corruption, leaders must fight corruption using facts instead of tainting projects for political reasons.
He said that a section of leaders is politicising the fight against corruption with an aim of tainting the name of specific leaders for political gain in the next general elections.
The DP said leaders should stop dragging his name into every scandal and tainting projects by the government.
Ruto said that the Jubilee administration is committed to eradicating corruption in the country adding that there are laws which have been put in place to fight corruption and they should be followed.
“They should stop using my name to create false information which all narrows down to petty 2022 succession politics. Every corruption deal is not about William Ruto and a few personalities. They have orchestrated and are driving a narrative that every government initiative is marred with corruption. We are not going to win the war on corruption by exaggerating figures,” said DP Ruto.
