A man has killed his wife and two children in Nzambani village, Kitui County.
Nthenge Mutua allegedly hacked the trio to death under unclear circumstances on Friday morning.
He butchered his 34-year-old wife and two children, daughter and son aged 14 and 13 respectively using an axe.
Confirming the incident, Nzambani Sub-County AP commander Lawrence Njeru said police were already at the scene of crime and were pursuing the suspect.
The AP boss, however, said it was not immediately established why the suspect committed the crime.
The bodies were removed to Kitui Level 4 Hospital's mortuary.
