A man was on Sunday killed by the public in Kisumu over allegations of murdering his father.

24-year-old Dalmas Achara reportedly beheaded his father at their home in Kongonyi in Kisumu on Friday, before angry villagers turned against him and lynched him.

Confirming the incident, Kisumu Central OCPD Ancent Kaloki added that the man also chopped off his father's private parts before meeting his own death.

The incident was also confirmed by area Assistant Chief Nancy Onditi who said that the young man also turned violent when residents attempted to intervene.

He reportedly injured residents and security guards from the nearby Kisumu International Airport.

“He killed his 48-year-old father Omondi Achara, a Jua Kali artisan, then cut off his head and private parts before injuring other villagers and security guards,” the administrator was quoted y the Standard.

She added that villagers had reported Achara to the authorities for being violent but his father had always been at hand to protect him.

“The boy was very violent to villagers and we had received reports from the neighbours, but the father protected him,” she added.

Achara was reportedly barely three weeks old at home after his recent release from the Kodiaga Maximum Prison where he was being held for robbery with violence.
