Speaking on Wednesday, Khalwale who doubles up as the party deputy boss added that their eroded relationship has even led to strained communication between them.

He noted that he has not been speaking to the Bungoma senator lately, basing the situation on their political disagreements after Khalwale shifted allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto.

"Hatujazungumza na Wetangula kwa muda mrefu sasa kwa sababu hatuelewani. Kama watu wazima tumeamua hatuelewani na hiyo inaleleweka katika siasa. (We have not been speaking for quite some time now because we have disagreed. In politics, sometimes you must agree to disagree and that's what happened between us)," he said.

Khalwale was speaking on Radio Citizen's Jambo Kenya show on Wednesday morning.

He also laughed off Wetangula's presidential ambitions in the 2022 elections, arguing that the Ford Kenya Party leader is yet to seriously embark on the journey, which makes it a plain declaration for now.

"Kwa sasa siwezi simama pahali popote pale kumpigia debe kwa sababu hajaonyesha kwamba anaweza kushinda. Hajajidhihirisha eti anaweza kupata ushindi (Until he demonstrates that he is very serious and able to win, I cannot drum up support for him)," he added.
